'Pediatric Care at Home - The Story of Dori'

02:25 Apr 20, 2021
'Dori was born 4 months early resulting in multiple health issues. She has Cerebral palsy which is a group of non-progressive, non-contagious motor conditions that cause physical disabilities as well as issues with developmental delay. When she came home she was so small and on a ventilator 24/7 but now only needs it at night, according to RN, and Assistant Director Home Care, Lisa Adams with Interim HealthCare. Dori is also dependent on a trachea and ventilator to breath so she requires highly qualified nurses to meet her needs. During the day she has nurses who take her to school. According to her father Bob Gaemans, without an Interim Nurse the family trusts she wouldn\'t have the opportunity to go to school or do some of the normal kid activities like going to the movies or out to dinner. And because she has to be on the ventilator at night she also requires nurses to stay with her overnight to ensure she\'s safe. Melissa, one of Dori\'s day nurses, puts her heart and soul into what\'s she\'s doing everyday with Dori. And the trust both Dori\'s parents have for Interim and their Nurses they are able to continue to work full time and know Dori\'s in good hands.
