'Born in Angola, the statuesque Indira Lourenco dreamed of working as a model someday, but her passion for design landed her instead at the helm of the New York-based I Lou Design Corp. House Tipster’s Media Team met with Lourenco recently to talk about her Africa-influenced designs. She’s still a rising star but now in the home-design field, where in just two years, she’s become a trend-setter, featured in numerous design magazines. Lourenco considers her rapid ascent in the design world a product of her vision, strong beliefs, and passion for design, and she encourages women and students wanting to follow her course to stay at it. “Take failure, not as the end, but as the start,” she tells students, also recommending they let their passion guide them into realizing their dreams – similar to her own course. Lourenco brings inspiration to the 45 Degrees Furniture Collection, which takes African influences and refines them into modern style. Modern lines, authentic inspiration, and soulful expression, that is the hallmark of 45 Degrees.'
