'#127TT recruits, you got the good news last week...... are you ready?? Actually, are all future and current candidates getting ready? Preparing physically doesn’t mean just preparing for the Physical Fitness Assessment/PT test to become a state trooper, but preparing for PT at the Connecticut State Police Training Academy and for the job a law enforcement officer does. The key to functional exercises utilized in the Connecticut State Police Training Academy physical training (PT) program is integration. It\'s about teaching all the muscles to work together rather than isolating them to work independently. Not only does this methodology transfer to real world scenarios generally well, it mimics the situations that a trooper may encounter when on patrol. Recruits are exposed to this by means of lifting and pulling odd objects to include logs, tires and sleds, carrying and pulling each other, performing compound exercises, jumping and sprinting, varying degree of duration and intensity, and attacking fitness from an all-inclusive view with the intent on creating a high level of transferability to a career as a state trooper.'
