'Easy Beginners Skin Lotion Recipe - DIY Moisturiser - Hydrating Water-Based Cosmetic Formula'

'Simple to make DIY skin lotion. Recipe in video. There are many different emulsifiers on the market, often having different brand names in different countries. The emulsifiers I have chosen to use here are (to my knowledge) called the same everywhere and widely available. The subject of emulsifiers is a topic in itself and if you are interested in formulating your own personal care products, I advise researching emulsifiers in depth to gain a stronger understanding of their properties and use. Professional formulators and chemists always formulate in percentages. This makes it simple to adjust quantities up or down when experimenting with existing or introducing new ingredients. For example, if you would like to make a more liquid lotion, you might try adding more distilled water and reducing the amount of emulsifier. Before I go any further, let me say I have not tested this variation, but it is how I would approach it in the first instance. The formula in the video contains 76% water and 8% emulsifiers. These figures, together with the other ingredients add up to 100%. To make the lotion more liquid, I might try increasing the water to 80% (so add 4% there) and reduce the emulsifiers by half to just 4%. This still adds up to 100% so the quantities of other ingredients are not affected.
