'In this video I am going to tell you about glycemic index and glycemic load. Glycemic index is a number. It gives you an idea about how fast our body converts the carbohydrates in a food into glucose. Two foods with the same amount of carbohydrates can have different glycemic index . The smaller the number, the less impact the food has on your blood sugar. 55 or less = Low (good),56- 69 = Medium and 70 or higher = High (bad) Whereas the glycemic load (GL) of food is a number that indicates how much the food will raise the blood glucose level after eating it. Glycemic load gives an idea for how much carbohydrate is in the food.. So, whenever you are taking some food please check whether the food is having low GI or low GL.
