'Every two years, the U.S. Department of Energy sponsors an international competition to design, build and operate the most attractive and energy-efficient solar-powered home. College and university teams from around the world transport their competition houses to the National Mall in Washington, D.C. to assemble a solar village and participate in the ten-part contest. This film chronicles the 2005 Solar Decathlon with updates from the 2007 competition.
