To become a Police Officer in a Massachusetts Civil Service Police Department (https://www.mass.gov/service-details/civil-service-police-departments) you must successfully take and pass the Police Officer PAT. The PAT consists of several timed events designed to simulate the essential functions of the job and candidates must complete each event within the specified amount of time required. This instructional video is intended to familiarize candidates with the various events of the PAT to better assist in preparing for it.
